
Continental and Hamburg plan joint ITS projects, protecting vulnerable road users and improved use of parking spaces. Tutech and HI contribute to bringing about the cooperation.
Hamburg News reports: During the current World Congress for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in Singapore, the City of Hamburg signed a partnership agreement with Continental on the development of urban mobility. The agreement foresees joint ITS projects to improve the safety of vulnerable road users and more efficient use of parking spaces. The ITS World Congress will take place in Hamburg from 11 – 15 October 2021, marking a milestone in the ITS Senate strategy through to 2030.
The same Hamburg News article reports that the technology company Continental is developing pioneering technologies and services for sustainable and connected mobility. In 2018, it generated sales of around €44.4 billion and currently employs more than 244,000 people in 60 countries. Continental recently began building an innovation centre on the site of the former Phoenix plant in Hamburg’s Harburg district, where innovations for tomorrow’s industries will be produced in future. In the course of this development, the company has forged close partnerships with Hamburg Innovation, Tutech Innovation GmbH and Hamburg Invest.
