Winning team “Innolyze” convinces judges with innovative solution
The prizegiving for our newly created competition for start-up ideas took place on the main stage at the TUHH summer festival last week. Individuals and teams with innovative concepts were invited to compete. Anyone with a link to Hamburg University of Technology was eligible to participate – including professors, academic and non-academic staff, students and graduates. Another condition was that no company based on the submitted idea had been set up by the deadline of 18 June 2025.

The winning “Innolyze” team, comprising Dr Daniel Auge, Jan Philipp Weiland and Nils Albrecht, won over the judges with an innovative approach to the monitoring and predictive maintenance of railway infrastructure. Their solution aims to make the maintenance of relevant infrastructure more efficient and predictive so as to minimise downtime and increase safety.
Through this success, the competition demonstrates once again the importance of promoting start-up ideas and supporting them via a strong network such as TUHH and Tutech. We offer our congratulations to the “Innolyze” team and wish them success with putting their idea into practice.
The competition was organised by Tutech Innovation GmbH in cooperation with Startup Port@TUHH. The initiative was supported by the cooperation partner TEMPOWERK, represented by Christoph Birkel, who donated the €500 prize and presented the certificated to the winning team together with TUHH President Professor Andreas Timm-Giel.
