Congrats from Tutech: Innovative start-ups from the Harburg district honoured.
On 6 November 2025, WLH (Economic Development Agency in the Harburg District) presented the eighth Start-up Award at Burg Seevetal – a significant signal for local innovation momentum and the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The event concept combined an awards fair with the actual award ceremony: All applicant companies were given free exhibition space in the presence of several hundred trade visitors from business, politics and academic institutions, creating the ideal conditions for knowledge transfer and networking. The competition, with prize money of €10,500, is aimed specifically at young companies based in the Harburg district and was expanded for the first time to include a specific category for particularly young start-up teams.
Award-winning business models and innovative approaches
Five companies received awards for their commercially viable solutions: Timm & Flo GmbH & Co. KG (1st place) impressed the judges with an integrated approach to photovoltaics, roofing and electrical engineering. Gemeinsam Jung (2nd place) developed a social impact business model for cross-generational networking. Eventhub GmbH (3rd place) implements AI-based technologies for large events, in particular the ‘Player Locator’ for live navigation and real-time data processing. The public vote went to the restaurant GREENS (Buchholz), while the new special prize ‘Beginners U21’ was awarded to Severmore (Winsen/Luhe) for the manufacture of localised, individualised team clothing.
Regional commercial significance
The Start-up Award acts as a catalyst for the regional start-up scene and creates lasting networks between established players and up-and-coming businesses. The format has developed into a cross-sector hub, generating constant momentum for business start-ups through its three-yearly rhythm. Tutech CEO Martin Mahn was a member of the judging panel. In 2023 this cooperation was extended to provide a central access point to the startup support units of all participating institutions through Startup Port. Our partner company Hamburg Innovation jointly operates this project.
